The first Forges take place in France (1โ5 June 2026, focus: situational awareness in contested urban environments) and Estonia (3โ7 June 2026, focus: offensive and resilient unmanned air systems in EW conditions).

EDIP IRA 1st Call โ Energetic Components
Industrial Reinforcement Action targeting ramp-up of energetic component production (propellant powder, explosives, propulsion systems, warheads, electronic fuses, filling plants) for EU and Norwegian industry. Lump-sum grants of up to 35% (or 50% under enhanced conditions) of eligible costs, with a maximum EU contribution of EUR 30 million per project.

EDIP USI-IRA 1st Call โ Missiles, Ammunitions and Bombs
Ukraine Support Instrument Industrial Reinforcement Action to boost Ukrainian and European defence industrial production capacity for missiles, ammunition and bombs, including air defence missiles, counter-UxS systems, deep strike capabilities, long-range missiles, rockets, smart bombs and loitering munitions. Funding rate up to 100% of eligible costs; maximum EU contribution EUR 30 million per project.

Second EDIP Common Procurement Actions call for consortia of Member State and Norwegian contracting authorities to jointly procure defence equipment including counter-drone, air and missile defence, and combat systems. Grants of up to EUR 20 million per project; second call closes February 2027.

Industrial Reinforcement Action supporting increased manufacturing capacity for key defence electronics including guidance electronics, propulsion electronics, RF and laser modules, multispectral cameras, avionics, PCBs, IC substrates, lithium-ion polymer batteries, power electronics and critical semiconductor building blocks. Maximum EU contribution is EUR 20 million per project.

Industrial Reinforcement Action for scaling up manufacturing of defence platforms and end-products, covering forging/machining, key sub-systems, composites, assembly and integration of end products, Manufacturing as a Service, and dual-use heavy industry conversion for defence surge. EDIP USI-IRA 2nd Call โ Unmanned Systems and Counter-Unmanned Systems
Ukraine Support Instrument Industrial Reinforcement Action targeting production capacity for unmanned systems (UxS) and counter-UxS solutions, including UxS interceptor variants, EW-resilient UxS, and counter-UxS electronic warfare supporting systems for Ukrainian and EU industry. Maximum EU contribution EUR 10 million per project with funding up to 100% of eligible costs.
